Melbourne Trip - The Great Ocean Road

Travel Date: 24 November 2011

It was a long day. So I decided to go for a trip along the Great Ocean Road to the 12 Apostles.Initially, I wanted to just take the tour bus which would bring me there with the price of AUD111. However, the planned changed when two of my friends wanted to join too. So we booked for a car instead.

The journey is definitely not a short. So better pack up your gears properly. If you feel like swimming, do bring along some swimming trunk. As the journey was for ocean scenic. There are two way of going to the 12 Apostles. The ocean view or the land view scenery. So we planned to go via the Ocean scenic and came back via the land.

I can honestly say the journey took us almost a day with five hours of driving to and four hours back. It was really tiring but I love the view. We passed through few town and stopped by to short break from time to time. Along the way from the starting point (Melbourne City), you will not miss the town of Werribee, Geelong, Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne, Apollo Bay and Prince Town. Along the way there are few stop you can go to for a visit if you have time. Such as National Parks, waterfalls, wineries and etc. Just visit any Information Centre in Melbourne or along your routes and you can find out all the many things you can do. Afterall, the Great Ocean Road brings you all the way to Adelaide.
