Perth Trip - Mary Poppins: The Musical

Travel Date: 7 April 2012

I arrived at around 430pm at Perth airport. After settling the custom and immigrations, the pick up bus await me to bring me to the hotel. The journey to the city from the airport took about 25 minutes.

The venue for the show is at Burswood Theatre. It's actually not that difficult to locate and with train from the Perth station, you could get there in just 10 minutes. Plus, it's only cost you $2.60 for single trip journey.

Mary Poppins is a classic Disney adaptation about a nanny. Not any ordinary nanny but a very extra ordinary one with such unique power and talents. Yes, she flies too just like the movie using her umbrella.

It's really a great show with so many great magical acts. The dancing was superb and the performance were excellent. I was really amazed with the way of them doing the steps. Simply amazing.

The duration of the show came near 3 hours with 15 minutes of intermission. Do keep in mind that they does not notify you about the intermission, so don't assume the show has ended. Ask the staff if unsure. Otherwise you might waste the second act.

As always, pick the seat near the stage and if possible at the center to get the great view. Don't worry about paying more, it's once in your lifetime. So enjoy it.

Kota Kinabalu Trip - Free & Easy

Travel Date: 21 March 2012 - 23 March 2012

Day 1

So happen it is my bad day for today. I was almost board the aircraft when I finally realized I did not bring my Identity Card or Passport along. The staff was a little bit confuse too but they did not stop me. I was lucky I remembered the procedure or otherwise I would ended up stuck at the immigration or worst to be told to fly back home.

So I missed the flight and rushed back home and quickly rush back to the airport after that trying to catch up the next flight which were two hours apart. I managed to board the flight. Lucky me.

Arrived at the airport and it was getting dark soon. My friend was staying in Kota Kinabalu so it was kind of him to drive me to the hotel. It is easier to travel around the city by taxi. It's not the cheapest way of traveling but it does get you to our destination faster.

You have the option to go around by bus but you must endure the heat and on some occasion packed bus. I wouldn't prefer that.

I stayed at Novotel 1Borneo. The hotel is about 35mins drive from the airport depending on the traffic condition. So be prepare for the traffic jams if you traveling during the peak hour. The hotel is located at 1Borneo shopping mall. So it easy for you to shop around during your free time.

I was a little bit tired from the journey and all the hiccups so after my dinner I head back to the room to call it a night. Since I wasn't happy with my original room, I asked to change to the Executive Suite instead and I wasn't disappointed.

Day 2

Somehow I woke up a little bit late than planned. Without wasting more time, I headed to the Filipino Market. It's a mixture of wet and dry market, souvenirs market, and coconut market. So you could basically get all your stuff here at low price. From fishes to pearls, you name it. I bought some to bring home and it's cheap.

Done with the shopping and now the time for a break at the mall and Suria mall is the pick of the day. Headed for a good movie and it was time for dinner.

It was free and easy indeed.

Day 3

I missed my flight. Woohoo! Ok it's not funny but lucky for me there is another flight departing an hour later. Time to go home and work. For those who really have the time, you could go to the night market just next to the Filipino Market. The scene changed to tasty seafood BBQ and other food haven.
